Bedri Rahmi Bay
Bedri Rahmi Bay
Bedri Rahmi Bay is located in the Gulf of Fethiye and is one of the most popular bays in the region. It is named after the great Turkish writer and painter Bedri Rahmi EyĂĽbolu. The story goes that he and his friends were the first blue voyagers to explore the beautiful Lycian coast. In 1973, during a trip he painted fish on the rocks in the bay. For this reason the bay was named after him. The sheltered bay is lined with pine trees, olive trees and oleander flowers. The discovery of many Lycian rock tombs hidden behind trees along the shore led historians to believe that the ancient Lycian city of Kria was located here.
